Mentoring

A formal mentorship program accelerates talent development and creates collective impact.

Mentorship is a process by which an experienced, well-regarded, empathic person (the mentor) guides another individual (the mentee) in the development and examination of their (the mentee’s) own ideas, learning, and personal and professional development.

  • Mentors and mentees choose to participate in the program
  • Mentor is NOT the mentee’s supervisor (relationship is not about authority or positional power)
  • Mentors and mentees choose to work together (no one is ‘assigned’ a mentor or mentee)
  • Mentees share goals and aspirations
  • Mentors guide, suggest and coach
  • A signed agreement memorializes goals and commitments (discussions are confidential)
  • Mentees meet monthly and build their own network
